What Are Copper C12200 Pipes?

C12200 is phosphorus deoxidised copper, sometimes called DHP copper. UNS number is C12200, and the copper content is above 99.9%. During refining, 0.015% to 0.040% phosphorus gets added to remove residual oxygen from the melt, which is what stops hydrogen embrittlement when the pipe is brazed at high temperature. Thermal conductivity is around 226 W/m·K, electrical conductivity is roughly 85% IACS, and melting point is 1083°C. Lower oxygen also means better weldability and fewer porosity issues in soldered joints. Most refrigeration lines, plumbing systems and heat transfer equipment use this grade, because the thermal performance and corrosion resistance hold up over time.
